We turn your ideas into parts

The efficient injection moulding in-house process

Team leader Engineering Arjen Diederen

“The task of the engineer is to empathise with the product. What requirements does the product have to meet? What quantities must be produced? What is the product for? Every one of these questions is what we are concerned with. Based on these data, we will design the mould. This is a complex process with many steps. The idea may still be beautiful, but the product must be able to be made. During the design phase, we have a lot of contact with the various departments. It is a great advantage that we, as engineers, are close to the process.”

Sales | Project management

Every project starts with a conversation between the client and one of our specialists. Our salespeople are all technically skilled and have extensive experience. They can give the right advice at an early stage. We provide clear information during the quotation phase, but also through the rest of the process. In addition, we guarantee absolute confidentiality. The fact that we carry out the entire process in-house contributes to this.

Each project is supervised by one of our project leaders. They are the link between our production and the customer, and their direct point of contact. Our project leaders work closely with the sales team, our quality experts and logistics specialists.

Computer-aided design/manufacturing (CAD/CAM)

With our customers, everything revolves around the right design. We translate their ideas into an optimal model for an injection mould. For the mould design our engineers work with the software VISI CAD. This system can process the most common data formats, such as CATIA, NX, IGES, and STEP.

When the design of the mould is ready, CAM software WorkNC is used to create the programmes for the milling department for all parts of the product-forming mould in a short period of time. The direct lines of communication between our CAD/CAM department and the milling department guarantee short lead times in mould production.

tool manufacturing

CNC

In the milling department, a modern fleet of five-axis milling machines is used to produce the various mould parts.
We have milling machines with a reach of up to four metres. Our small machines are equipped with an automated pallet-changing system, allowing all machines to run unmanned 24/7.

Tool surface treatment

We can provide aluminium or steel moulds with different textures. These can be applied by etching or by using the most modern laser techniques.
Because we work with leading and certified suppliers from the automotive industry for these technologies, we can guarantee a surface according to a customer’s specifications.
Besides applying a coating, the moulds can also be hardened.

Tool assembly

Between the milling and injection moulding departments, we have a team of moulding specialists. They have the very specialised job of taking care of the assembly of the moulds.
Spotting the mould parts is done by hand.

Hot runner assembly

Because we have developed our own hot runner system, we can also build an optimal hot runner system for large, complex moulds in a very short time, both with and without cascade control.
In addition to our systems, we are happy to offer systems from other hot runner suppliers.

part production

Injection moulding

Our base lies in the plastics industry, so we have a lot of expertise in injection moulding and material technology. We have injection moulding machines with a clamping force ranging from 150 tons up to and including 2,000 tons, with different capacities. This enables us to produce virtually all types of injection moulded product for customers.
The injection moulding techniques we have in-house include, among others:

  • MuCell (with core back expansion)
  • 2K injection moulding
  • Gas-assisted injection moulding
  • Foil, fabric, or composite overmoulding
  • Overmoulding of inserts in all forms/shapes

Product finishing and assembly

Often, the products are made up of multiple components. In order to offer a complete service, we also take care of the assembly. Special finishing techniques, such as the application of leather or PU skins, or the punching of plastic components, are among the possibilities. In the assembly, we use state-of-the-art techniques for connecting the plastic elements, such as ultrasonic welding and gluing.
We also provide product-specific packaging, so your products are delivered without damage.

Surface treatments

In addition to the complete assembly of components, we also offer various surface treatments. For example, we can have plastic products painted or chrome-plated. We have an extensive partner network for this.

Other services

As well as producing plastic parts, we have extensive possibilities for offering other technologies and production techniques. Think of steel parts, milled parts or composites. We work with partners for this, too.

Quality control

A completed product is checked by the quality department. Free state measurement is one option, but a customer can also opt for a measurement with reference points according to specifications. We then measure the product exactly as it is mounted in the car. If the client opts for a part including a measurement fixture, a detailed digital measurement report is supplied with the product.
